Biker Vest + Patchwork Denim

Happy Belated Mother’s Day to each and every mom, bonus mom, mom-to-be, grandmom, foster mom, God-mom, and everything in between!! To every woman battling miscariage or infertility, every mom who has lost a child, & those who’ve lost their mom I offer my condolences, love, & support. Even the happiest of occasions can stir up pain for another, so I pray that God’s peace would surround you during this season.

We’re half way through May and I’m absolutely stoked because today is the start of “Jeans Week” at work. Nearly every quarter my job hosts a jeans week for those who donate to various charities and organizations. This quarter is all about the Alzheimer’s Association. I’ve decided to kick off the week with something fun, my first ever pair of patchwork jeans. These babies are also my first purchase from Go Jane.

Boyfriend jeans are already comfy and the added patches are a great remix. I kept it basic with a white tee but decided to take a risk & add a biker vest. Might as well committ and go full on rocker chick if you ask me lol! My bad hair day is hidden with my red scarf and the pumps and earrings keep me workday chic. So here’s to a totally comfortable work week and a take charge Monday, XO.

Leopard Cuffs + Leather Pants

It’s officially May and yes, I am wearing leather pants. Why? Because some days you wake up and you just wanna grab something you don’t have to iron. Not to mention my entire wardrobe is boxed and bagged in my parents basement until I move out.

So you see, leather pants are exactly what I needed after a long week and a busy weekend navigating through the city’s hustle & bustle hosting the NFL draft. These particular pants are vegan with a slightly pleated front.

The ankle length is perfect for showing off great pumps like this two tone pair. Working my way up, I decided to add my leopard lined blazer and balance it with a classic white top.

Next, I added gold accessories because I’m an eighties baby and my new favorite sunnies finish off the look. The perfect weather on the perfect day in the perfect pants, equals the best Monday ever! XO

Wingtip Oxfords

He is Risen! Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday and I am still basking in the joy of the Lord. This past week was a great one and I’m looking to repeat all of that goodness in the week ahead. It looks as if Philly is finally getting some  consistently warm weather and I’m here for all sunshine and flowers.

Today I’ve created my entire look around these fabulous wingtip oxfords. The block heel makes these shoes even more versatile and adds a feminine touch. I chose a lightweight salmon turtleneck and a navy blazer to compliment the colors in my shoe.

Next I paired these with baby blue cords for contrast and added a statement necklace and my go to spring tote to complete the outfit. I can’t wait to style these shoes again with a skirt or dress. What about you, how would you style these?

Burgundy Argyle Skirt

Although we are about two weeks into this Spring season many of us here in Philadelphia have learned to keep those sweaters and coats handy. It’s good to be prepared just in case a snow storm should come our way just in time for Easter. March and April are always wild card months in the Delaware Valley. By the time we reach May we’ve gone from bitter cold, to cool, to summer heatwave…all in the span of eight weeks.

As a result, I’ve decided to slowly transition into spring by pairing some of my heavier winter pieces with lighter fabrics. My anemia prohibits me from going bare legged this early but pretty soon the tights and stockings will be put away in favor of open toe shoes and ballet flats.

Today’s look is entirely centered around this beautiful argyle sweater skirt. Similar to the green one I wore a while back, this pencil skirt fits like a glove while being totally comfy. The sweater material is super soft and the bubble gum pink looks amazing in contrast with the burgundy and black.

I decided to pair it with a matching quarter sleeve sweater and keep the footwear simple with black stilettos. I added dainty pink jewelry with my staple rose gold pieces for an extra feminine touch. I promise you that I can wear this outfit all day without feeling restricted or stiff. Chic and comfortable is always a win in my book. Here’s to the start of a new season and the beginning of an awesome week, XO!

JORD Giveaway

Guess who’s back?! It’s been quite some time since my last post but the time away was necessary as I am still recovering from an accident. However, today is a new day and I’m finally well enough to sit up at my desk and share with you all. That being  said, happy International Women’s Day to all my fabulous lady bosses! Kudos to those of you who are off duty or wearing red today in support of “A Day without a Woman”. I’ll admit I have some personal thought on this “strike” but I will save that for another time, possibly a culture post.

Those of you who follow me on Instagram know that I received a gorgeous gift for Valentine’s Day. I now have a beautiful new time piece courtesy of JORD Watches. Founded in 2013 with a focus on crafting designer watches from all natural materials, JORD timepieces offer sustainability and efficiency to fit a modern lifestyle.

I recently wore my emerald and zebra-wood watch and it was truly a conversation starter! I’ll admit initially I had some reservations about how to style this piece for dressier occasions, given it’s wood bracelet, but I was pleasantly surprised by the result. I found the perfect sheath dress by NY & Co from their Eva Mendes Collection to accompany my new accessory.

The green sequins with subtle metallic gold work so well together in this striped pattern. They offer just the right amount of glam for a daytime ensemble and bring out the emerald face of my watch. I added my trusty leather jacket and black heels to keep things simple, but opted for gold jewelry and a vintage black chain purse to complete the look.

As a way to say thank to you, my amazing online family, I’ve partnered with JORD to give you a chance to score your own fabulous watch! One lucky reader will receive $100 off a JORD watch of their choosing and ALL who enter receive a $25 off any JORD purchase. Contest ends 3/10 so don’t sleep, enter by clicking here  Good luck ladies, talk to you soon!

Moto Jacket + Neutrals

TGIT loves and a hello to you! Ya girl is certified tired from working overtime all week, but I thank God in advance for the paycheck that is soon to come, lol. It’s Thursday and I’m counting down the hours until I get to curl back up in bed and watch HTGAWM to find out what Annelise has to say to the Keating four (five if you count Oliver). Until then I figure I’d get back to business and share today’s look with you all.

My favorite wrap skirt is back and this time I’ve paired it with some cool grays and taupes. In my opinion gray is one of the most under appreciated neutrals in the spectrum. It’s unbelievably versatile and can be worn in various shades all year round.

This multicolor scarf, which I’ve had for years, literally pulls the entire outfit together. It adds some dimension and even brings out the color of my suede booties.

Since the weather is on the milder side this week I opted for my go to quilted leather jacket. A pair of big sunnies and my gray tote complete the look.

For fun I chose a dark brown lip to break up all that gray. No ironing neccessary for today’s look, which is a win when you’re pressed for time. Here’s to a happy Thursday loves, go be great!

Mustard V-Neck + Dark Denim

No Monday blues for Patriot fans today unless you count our patriotic navy, LOL. Yes, ya girl is a New England Patriots fan. Philly is my home but the Eagles have never captured my heart.

The Atlanta Falcons owned last night’s game the entire first half, and well into the 4th quarter with a 28 to 9 lead over New England. In a MAJOR upset the Pats beat the Falcons scoring 31 unanswered points late in the game to win the Super Bowl 51 in overtime. Truly an entertaining game!

To keep the party going I’ve decided to sport some celebratory blue in my makeup and outfit. This deep midnight blue by Maybelline is a part of their newest color sensation line. Rich, velvety, and totally out of my normal color palette I’m so glad I took a chance on this lip color.

The blue contrasts perfectly with my mustard sweater and indigo skinnies. I’ve decided to take a multicolored neck scarf and wear it as a head wrap. The colors pair perfectly with my Aria handcrafted African jewelry. One of my favorite recent holiday gifts.

Lastly, I threw on my go to rider boots and grabbed my black tote. I’m Audi 5000, ready to tackle another day. Here’s to the start of an amazing week!

Marble Fur + Bronze Boots

Rise and grind loves! If you’re anything like yours truly, you’ve watched the New Edition Story about three times and NE greatest hits have been in heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist. Now that all the older millennials have come home from our trip down memory lane it’s back to our regularly scheduled programs.

Since I spent most of the weekend trying to avoid this cold/flu/plague that’s been circulating snatching everyone around me, I’ve decided to bundle up.

Today’s entire outfit was planned with this coat in mind. This “marble” faux fur is about ten years old and holds a special place in my heart since it was purchased from Daffy’s, one of my all time favorite stores.

Although they’re no long in Philly, this coat will forever bring back great memories. Underneath, I’ve kept it simple with a camel turtleneck and black skinnies. Bronze over the knee boots put the final nail in the coffin.

Who else is ready to “kill it” on a Monday?

Sequin Turtleneck + Brown Maxi

Hello loves, was the BET New Edition story not everything last night?! Young Ralph’s voice was flawless. A trip down memory lane that I’m sure we could all use right about now. Awesome casting for the boys and great job on the vocals. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series! How about you?

Now onto fashion… Some days you just wake up and feel like doin boss things like wearing sequins and fur – so you wear sequins and fur. You know what I mean ladies?

Today’s look is all about being a boss. Never one to pass up an opportunity to wear sequins, I’ve decided to sparkle in this gold sequin turtleneck. It’s the perfect top to add some flare to my vintage chocolate maxi skirt.

With such a fancy top all I needed were my brown knee boots and a pair of gold studs to accessorize. Winter cold has given me even more reason to bust out my favorite coats, extra and all so it was only right I add my shearling to top it off.

Here’s to lavish layers and slaying your looks every day, XO!

Puffer Vest + Camouflage

Three day weekends are a gift from God and I thoroughly enjoyed this past weekend. I attended an awesome church conference, had fish tacos on Sunday, spent quality time with my dad, and laid in bed catching up on my favorite shows.

The best part is that I have today off as well to celebrate my fiance’s birthday. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s also First Lady Michelle Obama’s birthday! Before I get choked up talking about Mrs. Obama, let me distract us by focusing on the outfit of the day instead.

I should tell you that these black riding boots have currently become my favorite shoes. They are just so freaking comfortable! I wear them every chance I get and decided to pair them with an old standby for this weekend lay.

I started with one of my go to turtlenecks and layered this olive green puffer vest. Can you believe this is actually my first time styling one? Down feathers make it extremely light and warm. The camouflage pants are a year round staple and perfect for this look.

A few gold accents and a dark lipstick mean I’m ready to take on the day in style!
